Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin launched four new wine brands from Laroche and Wilson Daniel’s on Thursday, May 3rd. We were joined by Brian Lynch, Wilson Daniel’s Vice President- Central Division, who presented a detailed overview of the Laroche family and brought us on a tour through each Laroche vineyard.  We tasted a vast majority of the wines from the new portfolio and afterwards, discussed key points about each wine and their unique qualities. Approximately 50 people attended the event, which included sales consultants and managers from our Hartland, Green Bay and Madison offices.

The Laroche brand includes Domaine Laroche (Chablis), Mas La Chevalière (South of France), Viña Punto Alto (Chile) and L’Avenir (South Africa).

Also launched from Wilson Daniel’s, a new wine from Drew Barrymore, “Barrymore Pinot Grigio.”  The wine comes from Northeast Italy and Wilson Daniel’s describes it as “A crisp and fresh Pinot Grigio.” The inspiration behind this wine: “Wine is all about the journey. Any wine lover would have to agree. The discovery of new wines, new regions and new vintages is what keeps wine exciting to novices and enthusiasts alike.”  Fact Sheet: http://ow.ly/aM8vv

We would like to thank Red Circle Inn for catering a delightful meal that wrapped up our evening and complimented our new portfolio from Wilson Daniel’s.

This past week we welcomed Lucia Raimondi, owner of Villa Monteleone vineyards from northern Italy’s Valpolicella District to Wisconsin and Wirtz Beverage. Her journey began on Wednesday, April 11th with District Manager Mike Walker in Milwaukee, stopping at Zarletti’s restaurant and then heading to Pastiche Restaurant in Bay View to visit with Chef Michael Engel. Lucia then headed to Madison where she met with Jeff Cox and Debbie at Wine Maniacs. The next day, Lucia made her way to Lombardino’s in Madison with Michael Banas and sales consultant Allison Zoltak then proceeded to Osteria Papavero where she met with Kevin Trotters. Along the trip to Madison, Lucia was able to meet her dear friend, Sherry Brenner for the first time in twelve years. She finished her day in Madison at Steenbocks on Orchard where she met Chef Michael Pruett. She then ended her evening with a wine dinner held at Il Mito Restaurant in Wauwatosa with Chef Michael Feker. Chef Feker integrated Monteleone wines into his dishes for the evening to create wonderful, flavorful pairings for the guests to enjoy.

On Friday the 13th Lucia was shown the brand new offices of Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin and was introduced to the sales team, she was then off to Lake Geneva with National Accounts Manager Lorelie Walters. That evening Lucia and Lorelie enjoyed a wine tasting at Pam’s Fine Wines in Mukwonago with help from sales consultant Lisa Brown from Wirtz.

On the final day of Lucia’s trip to Wisconsin, she experienced a great wine tasting accompanied by some great cooking demonstrated by Chef Walters which incorporated some of Lucia’s own wines which was held at the Abbey Resort Fontana on Lake Geneva. Wirtz’ employees Lorelie Walters and Carey Nelligan were in attendance to accompany the event.

It was a great pleasure to welcome Lucia Raimondi to the Wirtz Beverage Wisconsin family and we hope she can come back sometime soon.
