Hangar One Vodka Charts New Course With Fresh Campaign
Alameda, CA – Hangar One ® Vodka today announced its plans for grabbing national attention with a new aerial and online campaign as unique as the hand-made vodka itself. In a nod to the brand’s aerial heritage, Hangar One distillers will crisscross the country in their newly commissioned 120’ long blimp, bringing infusions of new fresh fruit flavors to trade and consumers alike. To tell the story of this classic American spirit, the distillery has also launched its very own music video and folk song titled “The Ballad of Hangar One”. Starting today, fans can stream the video and learn about the California Vodka’s tour on their freshly re-designed website – www.hangarone.com
“The Ballad of Hangar One” tells the story of its founder, Jorg Rupf, who emigrated from his native Germany to establish America’s highest quality vodka distillery in a naval aircraft hangar just outside of San Francisco. Using time-honored distilling techniques he learned from his family in Germany and the incredible natural resources he found in California, Jorg became the “Father of American Craft Distilling.” The song is performed by country singer Orville Davis, and features Jorg and the team responsible for making Hangar One singing with him at the hangar. The video was written and created by Brooklyn-based boutique agency Dead As We Know It, who are planning to produce a limited-edition release of the single on vinyl and make it available on iTunes in the near future.
“Rather than make just another commercial, we aimed to create something more engaging and true to the brand’s folk spirit.” said Elwyn Gladstone, manager of Hangar One Vodka. “Hangar One has an incredible history, and the video is a playful telling of their story.”
For the next chapter in the vodka’s story, the Hangar One blimp will set off in May and fly through September, covering both the east and west coasts and select cities in between. The distillers will stop in over 30 locations to talk to consumers and explain just how they make Hangar One Vodka. Fans will have chance to speak with the distillers, taste the newest yet-to-be-revealed flavor, and even ride in the blimp.
“Hangar One is an American classic – it’s a superb vodka made by a team of craftsmen who are passionate about making insanely great products” said Gladstone. “It’s real, it’s fun, and it’s high quality. We want to educate America about how each and every bottle of Hangar One Vodka is crafted from farm to glass.”
