President

W. Rockwell Wirtz was named Chairman of Wirtz Corporation in 2007 following the passing of his father, William W. Wirtz, who served as head of the organization for 24 years. In this role, he oversees operations of Wirtz Beverage Group, one of the largest beverage alcohol wholesalers in the country with interests in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nevada and Wisconsin.

Mr. Wirtz also oversees Wirtz Corporation's entities Wirtz Realty and Wirtz Insurance as well as interests in First Security Trust & Savings Bank of Elmwood Park, Illinois and First National Bank of South Miami.  Today, Wirtz Corporation remains one of the largest family-owned companies in the United States.

Mr. Wirtz is involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations as well as being active in fundraising endeavors for North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois. A former Trustee of Northwestern University, he established the Virginia Wadsworth Wirtz Endowment for Visiting Artists at Northwestern in honor of his grandmother. Mr. Wirtz is also a former Trustee of Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois.

The Wirtz family purchased the Chicago Blackhawk Hockey Team in 1954 and Rockwell became Chairman of the club in 2007 with one goal in mind: winning a Stanley Cup Championship. His dedication and commitment to Blackhawk Charities, founded by his late father and which has granted over $7.5 million to organizations such as Boys and Girls Clubs, Cathedral Shelter, the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois, Misercordia Home, Blackhawk Alumni Scholarship Fund and the Rehab Institute of Chicago, is unwavering.

Mr. Wirtz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Northwestern University in 1975. Mr. Wirtz has three children and he and his wife, Marilyn, reside in the northern suburbs.
